Telemachus: Books I-IV of Homer's Odyssey is the latest iteration ofJoseph Medeiros' (creator and star) ambitious project to stage and perform the entirety of Homer's The Odyssey in the original ancient Greek.
I joined the project in October 2024 as a production assistant and was quickly asked to continue on as Production Stage Manager and Props Manager (more info on Props Management on separate page).
The piece was a 6-hour long, one-man play performed by Medeiros almost entirely in Homeric Greek at Theater Lab in New York City. With Medeiros, I was tasked with combining the four existing chapters of the piece that had been performed in all vastly different venues prior to this (including Medeiros' own Queens apartment and Central Park) into one show.
It was an enormous, yet grassroots production so I wore many hats including: operating the light board and music, managing and running rehearsals, coordinating with Technical Director, running load out, coordinating with the front of house, and the main liasion between the performer, the creative team, the venue and the producers.
I have attached a few examples of my relevant paperwork from the project here.
